If you’re a content creator, you’ve probably used or at least experimented with large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, Meta AI, and others to generate content. These tools can be incredibly useful when used correctly.

However, it’s easy to fall into the trap of having ChatGPT generate an entire article with minimal effort. WordCrafter is the brainchild of Federico Pascual, its CEO & Co-founder. “Before starting WordCrafter,” Federico shared, “I was the Head of Marketing at Hugging Face, the fastest-growing AI community and the most-used machine learning platform in the world.” He further detailed his journey, noting, “Prior to my tenure at Hugging Face, I co-founded MonkeyLearn back in 2014. What is WordCrafter?

WordCrafter stands out as an advanced AI content creation tool, going beyond the functionalities of traditional large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, and others. WordCrafter takes AI content creation to a new level by analyzing the top organic search results for the targeted query. This analysis encompasses user intent and Google’s interpretation of that intent, whether it’s informational, commercial, navigational, or transactional. This strategic approach ensures that the content crafted aligns perfectly with what searchers are looking for, fulfilling their needs and expectations.

Creating Your Content Outline with WordCrafter

Creating content with WordCrafter is designed to be straightforward and efficient. The first step for content creation is to develop a content outline. Begin by selecting your target keyword. For instance, if you want to write an article about the differences between hiking shoes and trail running shoes, you might choose the keyword “trail running shoes vs hiking shoes” after researching potential keywords in Semrush.

Enter your selected keyword in the box.

Before moving to the next step, you have the option to toggle on advanced settings for more precise control over the outline.

Decide how many topics will be included in your outline. You can choose to include subtopics for more detailed outlines. Additionally, you can select the language and country for the Google search and outline.

After setting your preferences, click Next. You’ll then see a cute image of guinea pigs, which appears while WordCrafter processes your inputs and begins building the next steps.

Our next step is to select the intent of the content. You can see that Google shows content with both informational and commercial intent for this query. This aligns with my keyword research in Semrush.

Determine which intent your article will primarily target. For our example, we’ll select Informational.

With intent selected, you can now scroll down to select the type of content you want to create. Below each option the type of content that populates the search results for this query. For this query, 7 results are long-form content and 3 are community posts from Reddit and Quora. Based the available options, you can select either Long-form content or News article. For this one, let’s select Long-form content.

How did I know the community posts were Reddit and Quora? If you continue scrolling down, toggle on Show details of the analysis.

You can now see the top 10 SERP results for the query, search intent, type of content, and word count for each page.

Once you’ve finalized your intent and content type, click Save & Continue. Watch the guinea pigs again as WordCrafter finalizes your content outline.

WordCrafter will have the full outline for your content created.

In the provided outline, you can easily move, add or delete topics and subtopics.

You have options here to look at Organic Results, Content Gaps, and SERP Features. Let’s take a quick look at each.

Organic Results will show you the outline extracted from each of the top 10 search result pages.

Content Gaps identifies potential topics not covered in the top results you might want to include in your outline.

Lastly, SERP Features identifies People Also Ask questions in the query results as well as related searches.

Now that we’ve finished the outline, select Save & Continue. Don’t worry, you can continue editing the outline in the next step!

The next step is entering your domain to provide the system with more context and hopefully suggestions that are more relevant to your goals. Enter your domain and select Save & Start Writing.

Writing Your Content with WordCrafter

Before actually writing your content, you have several options in the AI Instructions section to help fine tune the AI. The Prompt box is where you enter your instructions for the LLM to create text for your content. You also have the option of providing a word count. For Target Section, this indicates whether the Prompt instructions are for the specific section of the article you are working on or for the whole article.

For AI Model, you have four LLMs to choose from. These include ChatGPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Gemini 1.5 Pro, and Gemini 1.5 Flash.

Finally, you can choose whether the article is written in a passive or active voice and select from a variety of tones from neutral, optimistic, and curious, to assertive, surprised and cooperative.

In the Advanced options, you have the option to generate a full article based on the outline and decide how creative or safe you want the AI to be. For Block type, you can set this to Auto, Introduction, or Body for type of text. System prompts determines whether you want the AI to use internally created prompts or if you want complete control. Finally, you can select the language you want the content written in.

Writing the actual article from the generated outline is incredibly easy and intuitive in the editor. What I love is that at the top of the page it says “Co-Write with AI” which encourages the human element of content creation.

There is a text editor that offers much of what you will need to write and edit the on-page content. This includes, bold, italics, underlining, code, bullets, numbers, and more.

As you hover over each section, you access the AI generation features. After you enter directions in the prompt box, your can click the robot to generate the text for the section you are editing.

You also have the option to rewrite, see the version history, move the section, add a section, or delete.

When you select the lightning bolt icon, this will open up additional options for rewriting the selected text. These include improving readability, adding humor, explaining it simply, and more.

Once you complete a draft of your article. you can review it with the SEO Optimization options which include keyword optimization, word count, readability, and links.

When you select Keywords, you will be provided with a list of related keywords, their search volume, and if they’ve been integrated in the content. I really love this feature! Very useful along with Content Gaps discussed next.

Another feature, Content Gaps, suggests additions based on what’s missing from current search results for your keyword, helping you enhance your content’s relevance.

Once you’re done writing your article, you can easily copy the full article from the text editor options and paste in your CMS.

Suggestions for Enhancing WordCrafter’s Capabilities

While WordCrafter is a fantastic tool for AI-driven content creation for SEO, I did find some areas that could be enhanced to better meet content creator needs. Here are some suggestions that could make WordCrafter even more powerful and user-friendly:

1. Optimizing Existing Content:
Currently, WordCrafter mostly focuses on generating new content. To broaden its applications, the platform could benefit from adding features that make it easier to optimize existing content. This would involve analyzing a user’s current content and offering direct suggestions for improvement within the platform itself. By comparing existing content against top search results, WordCrafter could help users identify and address content gaps, ensuring their material aligns more closely with successful SEO strategies.

2. Integration with Keyword Research Tools:
Integrating directly with popular SEO and keyword research tools like Semrush and Ahrefs could streamline the content creation process significantly. By allowing users to import keyword insights and data directly into the WordCrafter environment, the platform could facilitate more informed keyword selection and strategy development, enhancing the SEO effectiveness of the content produced.

3. AI-Driven Image Creation:
Adding an image creation functionality that leverages AI could be a significant enhancement. This feature would allow users to generate relevant images that complement their content directly within the platform. By integrating AI-driven graphic design tools, WordCrafter could help users produce not only text but also visual content that is both appealing and optimized for SEO.

To be honest, I am not a fan of content that is AI-generated. I strongly recommend against using content entirely generated by AI as a final draft. Content should have a human touch to it. I have been doing something similar with Screaming Frog for a while. WordCrafter makes this process so much easier.
